So we finally went down for a visit last week and loved both communities. We have a budget up to 400k so can really buy in either development. Brandon Oaks is in the Sun Valley school zone and Millbridge is Cuthbertson. I know that both are rated totally different but I have read great reviews on both. We do have six kids ages 13, four, three, two, and one-year-old twins. (Yes, we are done! LOL)

I would like to know if anyone has opinions on either community good or bad? Thanks so much and I really appreciate it! My husband will either be working in Ballantyne or in uptown Charlotte depending which offer is better. Thanks again!

Long term, Millbridge is probably better property-value wise. The school district is land-locked, so there are fewer possibilities of re-districting. And the schools are rated slightly higher than Sun Valley schools. The subdivisions there are about ten years newer than Brandon Oaks.

Brandon Oaks is probably a faster drive to uptown via 74, depending on construction. Millbridge is obviously closer to Ballantyne. Sun Valley is much closer to Brandon Oaks for shopping and a big movie theater than anything is to Millbridge. With a bunch of kids, you may be looking for more outside entertainment options than just subdivision living

Thanks for your reply EX LI! Were you originally from Long Island because we are too! What does it mean when a district is landlocked?
