Anyone know anything about the city council's discussion about "Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing?" I brought this up in the "Affordable Housing" thread, but most of the discussion centered around teachers' pay.

No, it's not about living in caves or under rocks.

This is the report that established NOAHs as a priority issue for the city:

https://www.charlottenc.gov/HNS/Hous...0Framework.pdf

"NOAH" is dicussed on pages 3, 8, 10, 16, 17, 27, 33 and possibly other places.

Here is an item from the February 25 City Council meeting titled "Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing
Funding Support Request" relative to Sharon Oaks Apartments:

I am familiar with the report. I was wondering if anyone (yourself included) was aware of the issues surrounding NOAH. WFAE reported on it the city council's discussion of it. I was surprised that it wasn't discussed in the rather lengthy thread about affordable housing.

It actually addresses the entire length of Central Avenue to N. Sharon Amity and across Monroe to Oakhurst.

I guess that all of the folks who really live in Huntersville, Cornelius, and Concord wouldn't be interested in NOAH until folks there begin to clamor for affordable housing.

What do you mean by "issues"? Have you looked at the Council agenda item I linked to?

Geez, dude, what is your problem? You're welcome.

You seem to have some strange personal ISSUE with me; no idea what it is. But my question was, what ISSUES are you aware of, or that you have, "surrounding" NOAH, since that was your very vague question. I'm not aware of any ISSUES surrounding NOAH, thus my question. It appears to be a pretty straightforward public/private partnership that has the potential to effectively address Charlotte's affordable housing ISSUE, imo. I don't have an ISSUE with the ISSUE.

Just a difference in the grasp of language.

Why would you overreact to being asked a simple question about your post?

There was a discussion of it by the city council. I was wondering if any of the people who were discussing rent control were aware of NOAH. Considering the fact that you are the only one to respond (and seem to be annoyed by the mention of it), it is safe to assume that no one knows anything about the city council's discussion and (I believe) resolution. Or perhaps they don't care. It doesn't matter.

And yes, I read the report.

BTW, unlike many found on this forum, not all issues are contentious arguments, only the ones in which persistently negative personalities become involved.

Have a Blessed Day.

The issue appears to be pretty simple, owners of older apartments partner with city to provide affordable housing. One potential problem is that you could have a glut of these properties on one side of town
