I’m looking at the Cornelius area and wanted to know how access is to Lake Norman for non-boaters who do not live directly on the lake.

How is Ramsey Beach? Does it get insanely crowded during the summer months? What other options are there in the area (i.e. not on the opposite side of the lake)? And are there places to drop kayaks in or does that all get done at the public boat launches?

Ramsey Beach is very popular on weekends. You can walk around Jetton Park and enjoy lake views. There is a beach there, but you are not allowed to be in the water. You can drop kayaks in at Ramsey or Blythe Landing. Many of the lakeside neighborhoods/condos have private boat ramps.
