Can anyone recommend a moving company for us coming from NY and going to NC? Also, we would like to ship a sports car. Any suggestions how to get it down here other than driving it? Does anyone know of a company that does this?

Most large moving companies let you drive the car right onto the van with the furniture. Check with Allied Van Lines. What type of Sports Car. If its a Lamborgini I will come to NY and drive it down for you

Do you have alot of furniture? We are relocating NY-NC and we had a company drop off a container(like a pod) only cheaper. We stacked boxes of our stuff and house decor etc. No furniture. We shipped it down there already. It cost 75.00 to store it in NC.

We have to find a company also, we don't have much furniture. I know you can call a transport company that will ship the car. Google it
Good Luck, I cant wait.

f.y.i. MY DAUGHTER USED -VERITY MOVERS- SHE LIKED THEM. THEY WILL COME OVER AND GIVE YOU A QUOTE. SHE MOVED FROM LONG ISLAND NEW YORK TO N.C.
I AM GOING TO GIVE THEM A CALL FOR AN ESTIMATE. IF YOU DONT HAVE ALOT OF FURNITURE YOU CAN GET A POD. A LARGE POD FOR TRANSPORT WHICH WILL HOLD 1-2 ROOMS OF FURNITURE WILL RUN YOU 1800.00
WE USED A CONTAINER COMPANY ABF TRANSPORT. WE TRANSPORTED BOXES OF"STUFF" AND HOUSE DECORATIONS IT WAS HALF THE PRICE.

NOW WE HAVE TO GET A MOVER FOR THE REST OF MY "STUFF"

i HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF

We used Atlas Van Lines. This is the second time we used them (they have a branch office in Somerset NJ). Whatever you do, BUY INSURANCE. My move was expensive but the damages were more expensive and in the end almost equaled the cost of the move. If you don't have a lot, rent a POD, load it yourself. You lock it, they pick it up and deliver it and the costs are reasonable. We also shipped an SUV by flatbed truck; that cost $600. That move was handled really well and there was no problem.

My fist thought was Horseless Carriage just based on reputation. Our moving company recommended a firm called "The Car Carrier" (pretty original name!) and we are using them to transport my old car.
