Hi friends,

I will need to take an hourlong conference call during the time I'll be in the Charlotte airport. Do you have any suggestions for quiet areas? I don't qualify for one of the airline lounges.

Thank you in advance!

Good luck haha. Your best bet that I can think of may be to find a corner near a gate that doesn't have a flight for awhile.

Lightbulb Minute Suites

What GoPhils said!

You can rent a Minute Suites in the central food court area. The room is VERY quiet - It's good for listening, but if you talk loudly, you'll end up disturbing other guests.

You might be able to find a slightly quiet spot towards the new Terminal A. Don't even bother with Terminal B, C, or E. Terminal D is a possibility, depending on time of day. Obviously, any of the public areas will have loud announcements.

It may be quiet enough in the area above the atrium (food court). Just climb the stairs by the piano.

Thanks, everyone, for the quick responses! It will be at 12:00 noon. My biggest concern is the loud announcements, which would be distracting if I were speaking at the same time. Do the area above the atrium (food court), Terminal A, and the Minute Suites have the announcements? I assume Terminal A would, not not sure about the other areas mentioned.

I will be mostly listening and would only need to talk quietly for about 1-2 minutes, but I don't want any announcements to come on while I'm speaking.

Walk down to Terminal A and take a right towards the higher numbered section (I can't remember the exact numbers, 21-29 maybe?). Its either brand new, or just recently renovated, and its used by the second tier airlines at CTL like Jetblue, Canada Air, etc. There is a large room on the left with rocking chairs lining the walls and a small banquet in front of the window. Its as quiet, remote and "unpopulated" as anywhere in the airport. There's also an atrium area with a Starbucks and virtually nothing else.

I like the spot between terminal A & B. There's a few benches and minimal pedestrian traffic, and it's not near any gates, so you won't hear gate announcements. You may have other people sharing the bench area with you...but it's fairly quiet for an airport.

Depending on how long your layover is, one option could possibly be to leave the airport entirely...might be able to find a slightly more quite spot in the rental car facility for example
