TV & DVD Repair do they exist anymore
My flat screen tv has a built in DVD player and for some reason right now it will not load the movie it just spits back out after it tries to read it.
I thought it might be just a certain type of DVD but I tried various ones and I get the same result.
Is there any TV or DVD repair shops in the Charlotte metro or towns that surround the area? I havent seen on in decades.

Before you take it anywhere unplug it. Leave it unplugged for a while (at least 20 minutes, since I can't see it to give an estimate). Plug it back in & try loading it again.

Sunny, its quit possible that it would be more to repair your item than to just purchase a new one..Pretty sad but true. I also agree that I haven't seen a tv repair store (in Fl) in forever..LOL

When my DVD player broke(fancy one that I spent several hundred on), they told me that they won't even repair them. It is cheaper or as cheap just to replace it.

I use to believe in this with the older TV's . It was pretty much cheaper to buy a new TV and dvd players are dirt cheap now but this is a 32 inch flat screen with the built in DVD player so it not as cheap to replace.
I might settle that it is cooked and buy a dvd player to hook up to it.
Do they make a DVD cleaner and does it work?
Im skeptical if it would actually work since when I load the dvd it Feeds it in and after about 30 seconds spits it back out.

There is a place called Car Phonics, at 2513 The Plaza that is a repair shop. They worked on our Sony TV for us and did a great job! Phone # is 704-332-5632. This was last fall so I assume they are still there.

Have you had a power loss recently? When the power comes back on it sometimes surges.
(I have graduated from a 2 year elecronics school & worked in a branch of electronics for 20 years. I'm not trying to annoy you, I'm trying to help.)
Digital electronics are more sensitive to power surges than their analog predecessors.
Is the TV covered by a warrantee?

Yeah we get them about once a week . I have a surge suppressor and if anything that would go wacky first is the DVR you have to hold your toungue right for that lol. The TV and DVR works fine just the built in dvd. I am not going to try to trouble shoot is because it will give me a headache . Expired store warranty on the Akai.
I do appreciate your expertise but this seems internal component and I would cause more damage like I tried spinning the DVD in faster into player l--didnt work lol.

No Problem, I would not try to do more than minimal trouble shooting online.
Have the surge supressor tested. They can get blownout & then become fancy extensions. You can't tell to look at them, usually.
