I'm a student at Appalachian State and for my Geography of Human Behaviors class I'm writing a paper on the population boom in Charlotte from 1980-Present if anyone knows any links to any good facts about population in Charlotte especially data of where new residents moved from I will be much appreciative.

There is some good information on the Mecklenburg County Library website but you have to have library card to access it.

I did a graduate economic thesis on a related topic. The resources that I found helpful were the Department of Labor records for productivity comparisons and related info. , census records, and demographic records, to name a few. Much of this information is obtainable at the public library or probably at your university. Of course, you can find much of this info. on the internet, but you may need a crdible source for your bibliography.

There was the article in the Oobserver a few months gao about Charlotte not being southern anymore and how many transplants make up the population majority but I can't find it.
