Autism Aware Fare this Thursday!!!

Please dine out, order "to go" or purchase gift cards for Mother's Day, Father's Day, teachers' gifts, or graduation this Thursday, April 17. A flyer is attached which may be copied and distributed to co-workers, neighbors, friends. More information can be found at Autism Aware Fare 2008 including links to restaurants which show maps, hours, etc. Please be sure to thank your servers and restaurant managers for participating in Autism Aware Fare! We know most of you do this already!

Local Celebrities will be dining out!
Look for local celebrities dining out to benefit the Autism Society! Matt Harris of The Matt and Ramona Show on 107.9, the LINK, will be eating lunch at The Penguin at 11:30, and Thomas Davis of the Carolina Panthers and his wife, Kelly, will meet other players at Jillian's at 6:00 p.m. Brixx uptown and Village Tavern have also enjoyed celebrity sightings at past Aware Fares. Let us know of others! Join these celebrities in dining for our cause!

Multiple Location Confusion
We are fortunate several of our generous restaurants have multiple locations which are participating, but sometimes this can be confusing. Let's clarify.

Brixx Pizza has all 5 area locations participating: Birkdale Village, Blakeney, Dilworth, Foxcroft (near SouthPark), uptown at 7th Street Station

City Tavern has 3 locations. Their East Blvd. location just closed. They are still in uptown, Stonecrest, and Rivergate near Lake Wylie.

Five Guys has 5 area locations participating: Ballantyne, Blakeney, Galleria, Monroe (not Road but Monroe, North Carolina), and Steele Creek. Five Guys Galleria (1605 Galleria Blvd.) is just off Monroe Road in Charlotte and another Five Guys is in Monroe, NC at 2833 W. Highway 74

Matt's Chicago Dog has 2 area locations: Cornelius at 19732 One Norman Blvd Ste 330 and uptown at 425 S. Tryon St.

McAlister's Deli 10 locations include: Arboretum, Ballantyne, Blakeney, Carolina Place, Lake Norman, Matthews, Olde Towne (Carmel Road), Park Road (near Park Road
Shopping Center), UNCC, and Whitehall.

The Melting Pot has 2 area locations and are open in the evening, only: The Promenade (near University area) and King's Drive

Let us know Where and When you will be dining!
We will send press releases out one more time, and we try to keep a record of how much business our restaurants receive for Autism Aware Fare. Please let us know at what times and at which locations you'll be dining or picking up large take-out orders!

Take your Cameras!!!
Please take your cameras and capture the special atmosphere of the Autism Aware Fare! Please take close ups of children that we could use on our posters and website. Look at what we use now to see how smiling faces nearly fill the frames and get close-up shots of your beautiful children, too!

Teachers, please take photos of your participating staff, bulletin boards, etc.

A few t-shirts still available
We still have a few event t-shirts available. If you want to wear them this week, you'll need to come to south Charlotte to pick one up! Otherwise, you can get one at the next meeting, coffee, or we can mail them. Just reply back to this e-mail, if you are interested.

Event Follow Up!
Please e-mail us your photos and reflections after the event to BetsyGustafson@carolina.rr.com
