Ive been hearing of all the crime going on in charlotte. I am relocation from Miami where Crime is part of the City. One thing I can say is: Every time I see the news of charlotte, There is someone robbing a bank, carjacking or home invading. But what Ive seen a trend - So far most of those criminals are captured within days or weeks.

The garage bandits .... CAUGHT!!

The murder of the 92 old woman ..... CAUGHT!!!

The two bank robbers ....... CAUGHT!!!

The 4 homicide last month ....... SOLVED!!

I watch my local news here in Miami, most cases go unsolved for a long time.

I may be wrong but maybe its just Charlotteans are more involved in neighborhood watching, people keeping their eyes open.

With the 10 mins plus response time to 911 or an alarm in South Charlotte, I will still trust in Remmington and Glock
Not that I fault the police in any way, they just cannot be everywhere, and the 'bad guys' know this.

Yes, the perps where caught, but are they still locked up?
That would be my question.

I think it also has something to do with the fact that charlotte really doesn't have a crime problem when compared to the crime in FL. Charlotte is still sort of like a normal place to live, whereas FL is pretty much a 3rd world country, where the police are ineffective for the most part.

I've lived in both places, charlotte hasn't seen the crime that many areas of this country see. It will though, I fear crime is going to get worse as this country continues down the path it's currently on.

Default They don't keep them in jail

which has created monsters that will do anything and anytime of day! It has most people on edge so really if they catch them it doesn't mean much here. It is very sad and frustrating!

Default Oh the other thing is

I don't think much is happening in the actual city you would expect this type of crime in a city but everything is happening in the suburbs and depending on where you lived before this can be a real problem.

There was an article about Gastonia having a high rate of murders. However, I think Charlotte is awsome. Personally, you know which neighborhoods to aviod and which ones these crimes are taking place.

Good luck with your move. Please research the heck of out the areas that you like so your informed when you move.

Luis,

yes it's good these a**holes are getting arrested, but they are usually let out on bond only to repeat crimes over and over again. The whole criminal justice system up here is rather pathetic. We're actually having huge problems and citizens have had enough.
