Do Not Go To Any Hotel On Executive Park , We Went Stayed At Comfort Inn Suites 10 Cars Burgalrized Including Mine. I Find Out After The Fact That This Is An On Going Problem That They Have Been Having, You Would Think They Would Get Security Or Something. Well They Really Damaged My Town & Country Mini Van Ripped Out The Back Window And Destroyed The Inside Of My Van All For Nothing They Did Not Take One Thing , I On The Other Hand Paid 1200.00 In Damage , The Hotel Gave Me 0.oo Nothing ....sooo What I Am Saying Do Not Stay In That Area Of Tyvola And Exec.park ...good Luck And Good Night...

As Far as Executive Park Tyvola, was this incident typical of the area? We stayed at the Marriott right there in July and found the area fine. It didnt seem like a crime ridden area, is it? I wont go back if thats the case!!

I would have recommended you stay at the OMNI or the Westin in uptown -- but that's just my personality

I lived for several years right there -- and for three years, right next to UNCC. I would recommend Ciro's Italian restaurant -- for authentic, good Italian eats. It's at the Shoppes on the Water. Additionally there is a very cool place called The Wine Vault. All very high quality beers - by the bottle - and wines by the bottle and by the glass. When the weather is nice -- which it has been of late (in the low 70s, which is AWESOME for this time of year) there will be 200 people outside ... folks bring their puppies ... all of the restaurants in the general vicinity will serve their food takeout, and people will congregate in the area ... oftentimes there is live music (outside on the patio) because inside the Wine Vault is tiny tiny tiny.

Also- Boardwalk Billy's is not too bad - really cool place, good food, tons of drinks available. But kind of a college hangout. Within the vicinity of your hotel, there is:

Copelands - New Orleans Restaurant - WT Harris Blvd
Taco Bell - Harris Blvd and JW Clay Blvd
Ciro's - as mentioned, Shoppes on the water
BBQ joint - JW Clay
Starbucks
Flying Saucer (over 100 beers on tap!)
Boardwalk Billy's - try their hot ham and cheez sandwich!
Maggie Moo's ice cream
Chen's Chinese Bistro (delicious food ) - corner of WT Harris and N Tryon Streets
Chili's - WT Harris Blvd
Chick-fil-A (JW Clay)
