My wife called me out into the front yard. She was excited. She told me that initially she had thought that one of our pear trees had split at the base. Instead it was a black snake coming down from hunting in the tree. I took a few pics of it for your enjoyment.

I thought black snakes had a black belly . . . ???? Is that a rat snake?

May I add - don't get freaked out by a rat snake. They keep critters away and are good for eco-system. They are harmless.

umm ANI I have a phobia and well I just dont like them sorry I know they are good and not evil but a snake is a still a snake in my book....Im telling ya Im going somewhere else to live..LOL
