I would go a few minutes away and check out Ballantyne. We rented in "Post" and enjoyed it very much. Ballantyne Village is right across the street as is the "quad". (4 corners of shopping, eating , and pampering services). The management was great, the grounds were nicely kept, the pool and fitness center were always open and beautifully maintained. We felt very safe there. They allow two pets and one wife and they do corporate leasing.
Good luck and welcome to Charlotte

Thanks Doorway...I checked out "post" and the property looks nice. I was glad to hear that they allowed one wife. I was a little worried that would be an issue when trying to find a decent apartment to live in!

If you know...what kind of distance is it from the "quad" to pineville hospital?? I like to ride my bike to work to sneak in a little workout before and after work. Is it within that kind of distance??????????

How far is too far? I have two friends who are physicians and they ride motorcycles all the way from the Lake Norman area to Presby's central location regularly. I think they are CRAZY but hey - they know the risks. One is orthopod - other radiologist. Now, you know they have seen plenty of images of damages that have occurred due to motorcycle wrecks . . .

Well...the motorcycle thing is a touchy subject right now...ha...i destroyed mine this past bike week in daytona so the wife is a little hesitant of me having another one. She has given me the green light...but not until we are out of Florida (she knows that I will have to wear a helment in NC). What I meant was a "pedel" bike to ride to work.

As I recall, the old joke goes like this:

A dog is truly a man's best friend.

If you don't believe it, just try this experiment.

Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of the car for an hour.

When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you!

I will guess it is about 4 or 5 miles. Easy ride, but busy street. If you like excercize, you will probably be impressed w/ post's fitness center. (for an apartment complex) Also, there is an adult only YMCA across the street and new fitness center 2 miles up the road that serves beer and allows you to bowl all in one stop! You won't be dissappointed. We checked out everything is the area and though you pay for it, it was the best by far.

Thanks again doorway...I actually spoke with somebody there today and started the process....I will have to wait to speak to my company on monday...they are the one that does on the dirty work. I just show up and go to work. But hopefully they will be able to work it all out and that will be my little "temp" home until we find a home to buy. The staff I spoke to today were great!
