I'm sure there's something to do in Uptown for New Year's. Any suggestions for what the better options are for a random single guy in his early 30's? I'll be in town looking at houses earlier in the week and will be "stuck" in town for New Year's. I can choose the hotel now, which is the reason I'm asking. I'm thinking the Marriott City Center might be in the heart of whatever action there is going to be in Charlotte ... but would like some feedback from all of you who know the area better.

Thanks.

Marriott CC is *close* to the action -- but the Dunhill, Omni, or Holiday Inn Center City will put you RIGHT in the middle of the action!

A couple of different fine restaurants have their NYE events:

pay roughly $50-$100, and you get all you can eat buffet dinner, champagne toast, open bar, etc.... look for places such as:

-Zinc
-Blue
-Cosmos cafe (right across from the Holiday Inn)
-Time Lounge
-Liquid Lounge
-Menage
-CANS

None of those places will steer you wrong!

James

Those are all decent spots minus Time.

This is supposed to be "the event" in Charlotte.
