They get no love from their parents, then they get no love from society. No wonder they lash out. While professional salaries skyrocket, Living wages are a thing of the past for the lower middle-class, therefore, so are stay-at-home moms. There are far fewer job opportunities for working people than 30 years ago. Yet, crime rates have actually been going down for the most part in the last 30 years. This temporary spike is temporary, and may likely be fueled by a poor economy and an overburdened police force. No, these people robbing homes weren't laid off from Wachovia. But some of them probably were laid off from construction jobs, moving jobs, etc., all affected by the recent economic downturn. Not to say they shouldn't be punished. And yes, some of these thugs have come out of Ballantyne. There are quite a few young drug dealers in that neighborhood. It's just not as visible. And they will be let off the easiest, because they come from a "nice area."

Crime in Charlotte, NC
Go ahead. Take a look. Tell me how many of these cretins, particularly the animal suspected of murdering the 92 year old woman, held any sort of job AT ALL. They weren't holding down being a bagger at a local Food Lion, much less a construction or moving job.
