I had one last week at about 10pm saying that a missing child had been located. I had TWO this morning around 5am and 5:20 am about a missing child. I was partially asleep so I'm not sure if a child was missing or found.

Has anyone else started receiving these? Thoughts about the timing or messages??

Not sure what has transpired. I have an emergency radio that goes off when any of several events occurs, including an amber alert. This past week, my radio went off several times in re: to a missing child, wh/ also included a later transmission that the child had been found. However, we did not receive anything this morning and I do keep the radio on continually.

What area are you in, generally? I am in S. CLT.

I do not know if the phone calls you received were from the reverse 911 system or what. However, my experience w/ amber alerts has been that a large area is included in the alerts.

Do you have caller ID? How did the call log in on your ID? I have to admit - I am a bit surprised that you rec'd a call that time of morning for an amber alert. I would check my caller ID to make sure this was a legitimate call b/f investigating further.

Maybe someone else rec'd this call and can help you more than my mere speculations!!

I'm in the NE/Highland Creek area.
CallerID showed up as Char-Meck Emergency 704-358-2622

I was really surprised at the call also. Middle of the night phone calls are no fun!
