I have found that people that generally make a statement like yours are themselves awkward and people just try to avoid because of their awkwardness. People generally are friendly everywhere unless given a reason to be otherwise. I was recently in a club and for some reason was speaking with a woman that had moved to Georgia from New York. She told me how unfriendly and awful the people in her town were. In reality, the women was an obnoxious individual and I asked her if she thought that they may not appear friendly with her because of her rude, obnoxious demeanor. She got quite huffy with me and left. It is unfortunate that you feel the way you do, but you shouldn't generalize. I am sure that if you had lived anywhere else besides the place in which you came and the area in which you currently live, you would not feel the same. You would look for the good things and not only the bad. Charlotte is "not" known for being unfriendly. Have a very nice day and SMILE

We make that drive about 4 times or so a year. Just made it 4 weeks ago. We left downtown Miami and drove to Uptown Charlotte and it took 11 1/2 hrs driving off peak hours on a weekday. Actually took us 12hrs 15 minutes...but we stopped in Jacksonville for 45 minutes and ate dinner.

Make sure you have a couple of good CD's and you will be fine.

GOOD LUCK & be safe!

If you are doing a Penske or something like that, it will take a lot longer. It took us about two days of driving due to the fully loaded truck and couldn't really drive over 65mph safely. We stopped in Savannah and stayed the night and got back on road around 9am and were in Concord around 4ish.

Actually as you are going further North, it will taker a little longer.

Than our norm.

We usually don't stop expect for gas & restroom.

Last time we drove down , we left Charlotte @ 7 and was passing Joe Robbie just before 5.

Usually takes just over 11 hours that is with 2 15-20 mins breaks, our mileage is 731 door to door (Kendall to Steele Creek)
