Default New and Need Apartment

Hello everyone,
My husband and I just moved to the Charlotte area and need an apartment. We are currently living in Gastonia, but would like to find an apartment closer to Charlotte.

I have read about Belmont, Cramerton, Matthews and Ballantyne being some of the safest and nicest places. We are really looking for a very safe place in a nice neighborhood. We are hoping to spent $500-700 a month. We only need a one bedroom. I have had trouble finding apartments in Belmont and Cramerton, and fear we can't afford one in Ballantyne. Any information would be great! Thanks.

What part of Charlotte are you working in?

Well, this is the hard part, my husband has 2 job options, one in Monroe and one in West Charlotte (exit 32 I-85) and I have a job option in the University area. I may also work from home. We are going to wait to see that everything gets settled before we move, but we are hoping to get information about apartments and areas that we should investigate.

The thing is Ashley, in Charlotte you really want to try to live on the side of town you work on, or you'll spend a lot of time and gas on commuting. If you get the job in Monroe and the University area I would consider living in Matthews - you'd each have to commute, but the one going to Monroe would be going against traffic and the drive wouldn't be too bad from Matthews. So for now, check out places online in Matthews. Do plan to spend at least $650 on a one bedroom though. Look at Paces Common and Galleria Village apartments.

Alright, things are more established now!!

My husband got a job for next fall, it's off exit 32 of I-85. I don't think we want to live near there though (right?). He has a job for the summer in Gastonia. I will be working from home.

We really need some help finding an apartment. Again, price range $500-700, one bedroom. We would like the safest, nicest place we can get for the money
Recommendations have been Gastonia, Cramerton, Belmont, Mount Holly, Matthews, Ballantyne, but we are open to any safe area. Any and all information is very valuable to us!!

Does anyone have personal experience with Davis Crossing, Hudson Woods, Shadow Creek (all in Gastonia)? And how about The Cloisters (Mt.Holly) and Abbey Court (Belmont)? Thank you so much!

We had a 2bed/2ba in Piper Station (By Stonecrest) for 830 month- I'd guess that 1/bed would be a lot cheaper.

Don't know anything about the apartments...but I would suggest Mt Holly or Belmont. Nice towns and closer to Charlotte.

GOOD LUCK!

Ashley, I can't speak to the particular apartments, but with that job location your best bets are Belmont and Mt. Holly - I think you will like them both
