Need to find the best spots for WiFi in the Matthews/Mint Hill area. Here is what I am looking for:

Nice atmosphere to sit and work for two or so hours at a stretch.

Not necessarily wanting a chain - would prefer to support a local business.

Prefer no charge for connection.

Would like something other than just coffee - some nice snacks, bagels, something to go along w/ the coffee.

I have heard Carolina Bagel is a great spot. I need to find several spots in the area.

Anyone have other recommendations?

I was sure hoping I could get some recommendations of places people like to go to enjoy their coffee while going WiFi. No one here uses any of the neat coffee shops in the Matthews/Mint Hill area for some time w/ their laptops and a break w/ some java???

Ani, I wish I could help, but I just never need WiFi. I will however ask my resident laptop user for his recommendation when he gets home from school

hi anifani821!
I would recommend bean house . They are right on E.INdependence blvd. very close the the comedy zone on 74 in Matthews ! free WiFi. Really cool little welcoming set up , Independently owned .
I was there about two months ago enjoying some live jazz entertainment along with
great coffee and many other things!

Oh, yes, Hearts, I am looking for EXACTLY what you recommended! The lesser known places! This is a great suggestion - and I really really appreciate it. This is one I did not know about at all. So thank you very much (and rep points for you!) I am gonna make a visit . . .

Thank you so much, Loves - and thank your source, too, LOL!!! I want to find chains, but especially am looking for the locals. I am going to be writing a little article for a local publication on WiFi hotspots in the Matthews/Mint Hill area, so want to make sure I find all the locals who have interesting set ups for their patrons.

So I hope others will post any ideas they have! Keep those suggestions coming!!!!

Well, forget my suggestion!!
What a shame , The bean house has closed.
Like I said It had been a while since I had been there , but from what I knew that place was fairly new.
Support local businesses when you find something you like!
Is it true the only other suggestion is a chain?
Sorry, good luck with your article!
