Michael Jordan redeemed himself by making this move. (After the Sam Vincent debacle).
LB brings instant credibility to this organization. Although winning is the most important thing to bring fannies back in the seat, its a good start.
He is 67 yrs old, and he might only stay a few years, but they should get on the right path to success now as long as Jordan doesn't meddle like the regime did in NY when Larry coached there...

CREDIBILITY.... finally! The Bobcats have lost their toughness they had last year with Bickerstaff. He will also attract a few potential free agents that would not have considered playing for Vincent. While I am amazed at the number of Tarheels on this team, this was a good call for any NBA team in search for an identity on the court. Will Okafor stay around?

Well, I am encouraged by the move. I want a team I can stand behind. Glad to hear others are feeling positive about it!

Jack - I gotta admit. I have not spent my dollars to sit in a seat. I am feeling different now, tho. I hope this is a step in the right direction. I am like you - even if he only stays a few years - this could be the credibility factor that we have needed.

Okafor - good question. Seems he and Vincent have butted heads so maybe bringing Brown in will be the one thing that keeps him here. However, w/ his turning down a very nice $12 M contract (if memory serves me) - I dunno. He has had an up and down run the last year w/ that ankle injury. Then you add the whole free agent thing to the mix . . . what will it take to keep him?

Ani, Larry is a very good coach, but he has his quirks. Also, if a player is a prima donna, he'll go toe to toe with that player.

I am not sure that he will command that much again on the market... but you never know. From what I hear on TV and sports talk radio people, his best bet is to stay here for Larry Bird money or at least the sign and trade.
I do think Brown will help bring him back in. He is a good coach. NY would have been much improved if they kept him more than one year. I go to a few games a year and this year was not exciting at all to watch. I am looking forward to next year and seeing LB on the side of the court. Does his signing bring more national TV exposure?

True, like he did w/Marbury in NY. Marbury is just a bad apple IMO. Everywhere he's been, he's brought his team down and not made the guys around him better IMO.
I honestly don't see that problem here.
Who's a "prima donna" on the Bobcats? I don't think they have any...
