Default Neighborhood around zip code 28269

Hello,

Due to a job transfer, I'd be moving to Charlotte in June. But would like to find out, if anyone has any prior experience/hearsay about Bexley Apartments
(8230 Greenway Village Drive, Charlotte NC 28269), and the neighborhood around the apartment complex. My primary concern, would be safety.

Keep your car doors locked and valuables out of sight. Apartments in Charlotte are notorious for theft. I lived in 28269 and had my car broken into at a preety nice supposedly gated apartment complex there.

They are only like 3 years old and near alot of conveniences. Just be safe in any apartment complex!

GOOD LUCK!

If you work in Uptown Charlotte...why not live in Uptown Charlotte?

What is your price range for an apartment?

You could go home for lunch everyday and walk (or talk the FREE Gold Rush Trolley) to work and save alot of money...and not have to pay to park for work either!

I lived at Bexley for a year and it was not so great. The bass from the neighbors stereo pounded day and night. There were also a lot of loud arguments that could be heard out in the courtyard because people leave their windows open.

I did not have anything stolen, though. I would recommend going there at night to see what it is like if you are thinking of renting there. Don't worry about the gate everyone follows each other in.

To get a real idea of the area, do a Google search for Charlotte crime mapping. CMPD has a site that gives you a breakdown of things that have happened near an address.

The area is fine, I lived there for 2 years. Its not unsafe per se, but any apt is going to have certain risks. Uptown is probably a bit safer, but it is different and more expensive. Key is stay west of 85, closer to 77 north of Harris. Some apts are better than others, I liked Addison park, but not perfect.

Office is in South College street, I'm not sure, whether this is downtown or uptown. Would areas like Pineville/Bellantyne (close to SC border) or even cities in SC ( not too far away from Charlotte), be any better? I was prepared to pay upto $900-950 (2 Bed Room)as rent, thought that might not be enough to find a place in Uptown
