Hi all,

I am hoping to get some help and guidance. My husband retired last year from the fire dept due to a knee injury. He is thinking of going for a new career in IT. He doesn't want to go the college route since he is in his late 30's so we are looking into Technical schools. Today we visited New Horizons Computer Learning. It seemed pretty good but I was just wondering if anyone had an other recommendations. Any help is much appreciated!!

ECPI is the only place I am familiar with in Charlotte. It is off Billy Graham Prky near the airport. I know it costs a good bit.

I graduated from ECPI Greensboro campus and my view is mixed.
He really needs to have his heart and brain into it from the very get go and practice alot what he learns.

It is very face pace learning and practicing alot what he learns will help out alot.

If he goes with ECPI or any technical school have him look into each field they offer and make sure that will be in demand when he graduates.
The biggest problem I faced was the lack of experience but that will be true at any college or any field. I was deny alot of employment due to lack of experience but I had the knowledge from that school.
Most employers could care less where you went to school but what variety of knowledge and expertise you can bring to that company.
The courses really focus on the knowledge you will need in the prospective fields so he needs to really commit to studying everything that is offered and it is face pace learning.
Good luck.

Does he know what field in IT he is interested in? Perhaps that will also help us recommend other schools.
