I just looked at my checking account and my $600 was credited to it. Since I had a sneaky suspicion that it would be coming today. I treated myself to a Sony Playstation PS3 yesterday, so I can play Blu-Ray movies. What are you good folks going to do with your money? Will you save or spend it, and do you think it will have any effect on the Charlotte Region or the U.S. economy in general? I'm curious as to how people will use their $600 or $1200 (or more if you have kids). What will you do with this "windfall"?
I'll be getting $600 and I'm putting it towards my downpayment for a house.
I don't think that the rebates will stimulate the economy in the way that they are intended to. I'm happy to get the money but I think the whole concept is nonsense.
Keep about 10 percent of it in your bank account for taxes. You will not be federal tax on it but you may be subjected to paying state taxes on this income you receive.
I am paying bills with mine -- was going to enlarge my patio but with the way the economy has been going need to catch up on bills so there goes the patio-----for now
It will be added to the savings we already have for our next 'new to us' car or truck. I am much more interested in stimulating our personal economy (bank account) than I am the national economy.
We are saving $600 for our summer vacation, and the other $600 (We are an engaged couple, so we both have $600 coming our way), I am going to buy some summer clothes, something I have not been able to do and I guess....... a tank of gas??? ;-)
