Default Moving To Charlotte, Need Advice

I am a AA woman, mid 30's with two children and I am moving to Charlotte. Can someone recommend a nice area or two? I am looking to rent $800 - $1000 and would prefer a house.

What area will you be working in (for a commute?) What about schools - anything special you are looking for (and are your children elementary school aged or high school?) I don't know how many homes you can find for rent in that price range, but maybe my perception is wrong. Let us know what area you are commuting to and we will have a much better idea what to suggest.

Nice safe areas, Fort Mill, S.Charlotte, Huntersville, Cornelius, etc. There are a lot of nice areas, but I don't know how nice of a place you will find for $800. I think you will need to spend atleast a $1000 a month. Since you have children, Fort Mill area schools are highly rated and I am pretty sure you could probably rent an apartment for that price, although I don't know if you will find a house to rent for that price. The homes we found when looking to rent here were around $1300-$1500 for normal sized home.
