If only some homeowners would have thought prior to crying out loud. That would have saved a lot of time effort and money for everyone. Some need to realize you cannot move into an area and decide to change it to the way you want it to be. It doesn't work that way.

I completely agree, but it seems common sense is anything but.

These were probably the same batch of dolts who moved down here saying, "I don't want to change your way of life, I'm just looking for a cheaper cost of living and to fit in".

Thanks for posting this info, Sunny. Bruton Smith is a success story - and his successes have brought jobs and revenue into our region. Whether you love, hate, or are indifferent to racing . . . Bruton Smith's influence in our area has been meaningful to the economy. I wish I were so successful an entrepreneur!

That Race Track doesn't bother us, but we are a couple of miles away. We still hear the races but its not annoying or anything. I don't get NASCAR, but some folks love it. They are an interesting lot! Its like going to Walmart at 3 am! You never know what your going to see I understand Mr. Bruton is a smart business man. This area is the birth place of auto racing and there are rabid followers that will spend allot of what they earn to follow their passion. He supplies allot of jobs for the area, none that I would ever have or need, but there are many that need those jobs. I guess what I am trying to say is I won't kiss the mans tail, because I think he is an arrogant piece of trash, that happens to have money.

The man has had dinner with presidents, done business with foreign dignitaries, showed up #207 on Forbes' list of the 400 richest Americans with a net worth of 1.5 BILLION. Inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame, and the North Carolina Business Hall of Fame.
In 2007 alone he raised 3.3 million dollars for Speedway Children's Charities.
Not to mention that if it weren't for him, most, if not nearly all, of Speedway Blvd to Concord Mills Blvd probably would not exist, meaning the amount of money that's being generated to help keep Concord healthy wouldn't be there.
That's not bad for "an arrogant piece of trash".

All the things you just quoted are things that a very rich man would get to do. It's the comments he has made to the media that gives light to his true personality. He has made 3.3 million for childrens charities. Well, I give money to charites every year too. Why because we can and its a tax deduction. He raised 3.3 million because he is rich and can use that to influence people. Even if he wrote the 3.3 million check out of his own funds, big deal, to a man with his wealth thats pocket change. Don't be too impressed by a mans wealth and accomplishments, that man can still be a really lousy person, especially if he doesn't get what he wants, like he is use to.
