We bought a new home about 18 months ago and for a lot of reasons we have decided to move on ... we are looking for something new and exciting:
We are torn between new construction and resale. Here's what we are looking for:
A nice useable back yard. Its very important for the kids to have a useable back yard. We have a nice level back yard right now and don't want to sacrifice.
Our home is 4br/3ba 3500 square foot and we are looking for something similar.
We are bouncing between Cabarrus County and York County, SC. I want to be closer to the lake and eventually buy a boat.
In NC we like Moss Creek. It has quite a few features we like:
Childrens pool
Clubhouse for meetings
Things we don't like in Moss Creek.
Shea and McCarr homes have such small lots, its ridicilous.
I really like Ryan homes and the Avalon, however, it seems you can't get out the door without spending $100k on options. We might go this route, if we can't find some other options.
We looked at Winding Walk and the lots are still small for what you are paying.
I am expecting to pay $400k, but might go a little higher, if we have to. The Community ammenities are very important to us.
Skybrook is awesome with their water slide, however, $599k is not sounding good to us.
We haven't looked very much in York, except at Baxter, and OMG they forgot to include yards in that community.
So perfect house for us is ....
4br, 3ba with bonus room and office, would love a 3-car garage and would love to be on a cul-de-sac.
Large masterbedroom with walk-in-closets and nice soaking tub ... I can't stand the corner garden tub ... yes, the tub is a deal breaker for us
Living in York is appealing because of the schools, taxes and proximity to Lake Wylie, however, we just don't know anything about developments down there.
Highland Creek is out of the question with the crime wave they have been hit with for the last year ... car burlgaries and home burglaries are not for us.
So there it is ... my rant of what we want ... any ideas? any direction?
I know Moss Creek is almost filled up and I hate going into the neighborhood on the tail end .... we looked there two years and $80k ago ... so that hurts too. Anyone know of any developments like Moss Creek that are just starting out. We are planning on listing our home the 1st of the year and expect it to take two months or so ....
Thanks for the feedback and hope everyone has a safe New Year.
