Default Relocating ... Areas with Best School System

Our family will be relocating to the Charlotte area soon. I've found a ton of beautiful homes listed in the area, but would like to limit my search based on:

1) top rated school systems
2) $300 - $500k housing communities
3) diverse community

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Anita,
Try Union County/Waxhaw/WEddington

Elem-Wesley Chapel
Kensington
weddington
marvin ridge

Middle
Marvin Ridge which will be brand new 1st opening
weddington Middle the scores are phenonminal...and im coming from a good schools system myself...

Go to greatschools.net
type in weddington
or type in Marvin
or type in Waxhaw..go through every schools they have ethnicity, test scores and parent reviews..now I have to disagree with some of the parent reviews knowing ive spoken to so many people who have been really happy with the education/schools

I hope this helps...we just came back from making a trip, and our next trip I will be visting the schools from the Inside, as well as hoping to buy a house on the same trip...

Good Luck to you

Hi there
If you want to go north of Charlotte, try Denver. Its rural, but close enough to Mooresville, and Charlotte. Houses are very nice in any of the developments I have seen. Schools are Lincoln County schools.
Good luck
dorothy

The best systems seem to be Cabarrus County, Union County, Mooresville City, Ft. Mill City, and Clover City.

I second the notion of considering Fort Mill, SC which is just south of Charlotte. I can also recommend a realtor in that area that can help you.

The schools are FANTASTIC in Fort Mill, the taxes are quite nice, there is definitely nice diversity in the area, and you can easily get a BEAUTIFUL home for the price range you are seeking.

Definitely visit here, and let me know if you want a good realtor recommendation!

Speaking from experience-- it's January --- all you corporate relos rev your engines... and trailing spouses... hop on board... or find a message board to help you cope...so to answer your question... run don't walk to union county.. in your price range my neighborhood of Quellin works and trust me... there are only 5 builder homes left in the neighborhood and prices will start to rise on resales since cureton's estate homes are opening up next door for $100,000 more than this neighborhood. Great schools, great community, great people-kids, and fun. We were transferred into the area from elsewhere and we couldn't be happier.
