Default Relocation

I'll be in Charlotte next week to house hunt for a relocation in late Spring/Early Summer. Right now, I'm thinking the Huntersville area since I'll be working on West Trade Street. Can anyone recommended any specific developments to visit? Our budget is the low 200's (240K max). Is a realtor a necessity? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

For someone coming into town with only a few days to look and find a home a realtor is definitely a necessity! You could potentially miss lots of great homes or neighborhoods without the help of a realtor who knows the area you are interested in. Huntersville is a great choice in your price range for sure, but so would the Steele Creek area, or parts of Matthews be. Plus, the realtor does all the driving around, giving you the opportunity to really look at the community

In Huntersville and the surrounding areas there are plenty of homes in this price point. Should you decide you need a guided tour of the area let me know I'll be glad to help.

Good luck either way!

Tanners Creek is nice. I have not dealt directly with Southampton Homes out there yet but they seem to have a decent home.

There are some other neighborhoods in and around that area in your price point too. Let me know if you need any assistance.

Traffic is terrible on the north side of town... I would suggest looking at Waxhaw and York County, SC. area...

Going from Trade in uptown to Waxhaw is just as bad as going from Trade to Huntersville or Concord

I can deal with a 45-60 minute commute each way. Is that resonable to expect?

Also, I have in-laws who will also be moving and 1 is on dialysis and currently gets PADD from the state of NJ. I would assume the health care system is pretty modern. Does anyone have info on a simliar plan subsidized from the state in NC?

From Huntersville you are looking around 30-45mins.

Not sure what PADD is but I can tell you there are plenty of Dr's and new offices opening up. The new Presbyterian Hospital opened last Jan '06
