All - I'll make this as brief as possible since I appreciate everyones time on these forums

I'm looking to move to Charlotte in the next 2 months and am looking to have a new home built. I like many of the Ryan Home models and have read about some of their communities online. I like the following subdivisions:

Stonewater Bay - Mt. Holly (I'm really leaning towards this one)
The Estates at Brandon Oaks - Indian Trail
Vermillion - Huntersville

I have been reading these forums for quite some time and appreciate all your help. I am going down to Charlotte in 2 weeks to check out many of the areas and subdivisions so if you guys could provide me some feedback/info on these or any others quite similar I would greatly appreciate it.

Personal info:
I am married with no children...yet
I am looking to spend between $300 - $400K for the home.
I would like to be within a 45 minute commute from Charlotte and be in an area that is known to have a low crime rate and good schools

All 3 of those areas are nice, scenic even, and your budget will buy you a very nice home. The thing is, do you know what side of town you'll be working on yet? You really want to take that in to consideration when buying anywhere in Charlotte.

Brandon Oaks is a great choice. Depending on how active you like to be, you are bike riding distance or a short car ride to Sun Valley High and Middle school (a very good school that i went to) and a brand new shopping center with a harris teeter , wachovia, a pizza restaurant and a few more small businesses .

Part of the reason I've been favoring the Stonewater Bay subdivision is because the lot sizes seem to be larger. Does anybody know what the lot sizes are at these subdivisions. Ideally I would like a 1/2 acre. I am a pretty active individual and enjoy exercise, hiking and biking. Brandon Oaks seems to have a wonderful community with a lot of recreation possibilities. Decisions, Decisions....
