Ok another question..How is matthews for living as well as schools???? I know about greatschools.net and the NCreportcard....just wanted to hear from people who live in matthews or know the area well....

We looked into Matthews...Butler High and Crestview Middle were good. My main concerns have always been middle and high school, you still have a lot of contact when you have elementary school children as they get older you tend to not have as much interaction. Not tomention the middle and high schools are so pivotal but remember it also boils down to parental participation.
I like Matthews, we live in Indian trail but tend to go to matthews for shopping and other things vs going to Monroe. There are a few things here in Indian Trail but we like the Matthews Target or the one of Rea Rd more than Monroe area. Carolina Place in Pineville is also nice.
Meck school administration is just not stable enough for us.
