Just need to point out that many of the charter school had deadlines of January or February to apply for the following school year.

What I like about the charter schools is that they are smaller. The K-12 schools don't have 5 feeder schools pouring into them in 6th grade. The same crowd you were with in 5th grade is the same crowd you will have in 6th grade.

I also like that they are more focused. Parents have to make an effort to get there. The local schools have busses and you can never get involved if you choose not to. Not so with charter schools. You have to get your kid there (no transportation available).

My kids aren't CSS age yet, but I have considered it for the future.

There is Union Academy in Union County. A very good school by all accounts. I have several friends that send their children to the school and they have been very pleased with what has been provided.
