Bwahahahaaaa!! Reminds me of a place where I worked one summer in college. Preferred Meal Systems. Right out on the front sign, big and bold...P.M.S. As it turned out, the company initials were an accurate description of the working experience.

I have a friend whose child goes there and they have been very happy with it. They keep saying they are going to move closer to Uptown but so far, nothing has changed. They have been saying they are moving for a few years now.

It's an excellent school but very hard to get into. First your child has to score 2 standard deviations above the mean on a standard IQ test. Once you've got that, there is a challenging lottery. MRSA is a very small school and so siblings take up a lot of the spots for kindergarten. Still, it's much easier to get in for kindergarten than any other grade. I know a lot of people who have wanted to get their children in there and though the child was qualified, they never got a spot. So just be prepared for that.

My child goes there. She is in K.
So far we are very pleased. She loves it. Her teacher is fantastic. The pace of learning is fast but not pressured. The only homework she gets (with a very few exceptions) is reading.
I do wish the school was a little bigger and had some more activites. But overall, we are happy. My daughter is estatic about learning.

They are moving next year. They are do to finalize the purchase of the "new" building within the next 2 weeks.

The school does not take children with IQ of 145 or better as stated. We were in 2011 lottery and there were many children accepted that scored much lower. So i am not sure it is for highly gifted children anymore. However, it is an excellent school. It just needs to be honest about admission policy.

I know this is an old thread but just wanted to clarify something the previous person said. The school's policy on IQ requirements does not have a hard limit at 145 (3 standard deviations). That is however the number required to become automatically eligible for the lottery. 130 (2 standard deviations) is the actual requirement to be considered for enrollment. Children that score between 130-144 have to be approved by the board to be admitted to the lottery.

It really is a fantastic school. Our daughter has attended for 2 years and we highly recommend it.
