I had an emergency with my dog on Sat. and had to find an emergency vet. Thank goodness I found Carolina Veterinary Specialists and they were great.

Now I need to find a regular vet to follow up with. I had already been looking for one but was taking my time since he was up to date on all shots, etc but this emergency sent me into action.

Does anyone recommend any around here? I have seen a lot and they all look decent. Do you know of any with extended hours? My old vet at home was open evenings and weekends and that was great. I just started a new job so I can't really take off in the middle of the day yet.

Thanks!

There is one on Sam Furr can't think of the name that are open on weekends. However in a true emergency there is a place on Highway21. It might be the one you went to!

Yes that is the one I went to and like I said they are great, so good to know they are here in an emergency and luckily in my panic I found them quickly. I just want a regular vet that has maybe some evening hours past 5.

I like Huntersville Vet but they are not open on the weekends or to late. However there service is really good. I guess it would give you a reason to get off work early on a Friday afternoon on a nice day like today

It may be a little bit of a drive, but I know that Total Bond - Paw Creek has Saturday hours. Also, some evenings (I can't remember which,) they are open until 7:00 pm. TotalBond Veterinary Hospitals (http://www.totalbondvets.com/index.html - broken link)
Go across Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd (toward Mt. Holly.) Once the road turns into Hwy 27, the vet's office is on the right hand side.
I took my Chrissy there for her regular visits. They even offer boarding and grooming. And then I adopted my kittens there, too.

Default Thanks!

I did a search on the forums and found a recommendation for N. Meck animal hospital, when I looked them up I saw that the vet that founded it use to work at my previous vet back in my hometown so I got excited and made an appt with them. We'll see how I like it, they have late hours and Sat. too.

My "children" go to Dr. James at North Mecklenbur Animal Hospital. I highly recommend them!

I have a Vet that comes to my house. She charges about the same as going to the Vet. I can get her number if you want it. She does a lot of Equine stuff, but will come right to your house for a dog or cat too! Shots for our dog were the same price we would've paid if we took her to the Vet.
