Default Catawba Queen

I have my Father visiting me at the moment, was thinking of going up to Lake Norman to go on the Catawba Queen

Any body done this?

Is it worth doing?

Any other suggestions for short (1-2hours) boat rides, other than Lake Lure been there twice already and probably will end up back there this weekend.

I went on the CQ a few yrs back - overall I'd rate the experience as a B-
IMO, the extra $7 for lunch does not provide very good value for money, but the excursion itself was pleasant enough.

The most-heard comments while on the trip were "Wow - look at the size of that house!"

My father in law is visiting this weekend as well. I'd like to hear more too. What else can we do on Lake Norman? Are there places to eat on the water?
