Isn't this a forum about Charlotte? Confused. Do you now live in Charlotte and are wondering about Denver? I know about Denver and parts of Colorado. What is your specific question about Denver?

The OP is referring to Denver, NC - The Denver of the East!

Just drive down Hwy 16 N for a bit and you'll come to it.

Small crime is what I generally read from the area. Within the last 5 years Denver has a economic boom with commercial and residential developers coming in.

Denver is still in its infant stage of becoming a city it is still unincorporated.
Therefore services you would expect from a city will not be there.
The county sheriff office controls any crime issue and I would not be surprise if they was stretch then as a result of Denver boom.

The west side of the lake did not experience the economic boom that the east side and reason the east side did is due partly to the interstate on that side.

Here the local paper if you want to keep up of what is going on in the area.
Lincoln Times-News : Lincoln County's Home Newspaper

Any city that grows so does crime it just expected.

Denver is a nice area older homes mixed with some new. The new 16 has hit a snag in its development and no paving has been done since the fall of last year. When the new 16 goes past denver it should help with real estate appreciation in the area.
