Hi everyone. Since Charlotte is known as a banking mecca in the US, I have a question for those of you who are familiar with it's financial institutions. I have tried to discuss this with my fellow Floridians and it seems that investors down here are with firms that are unfamiliar to me.
Just a few days ago, some friends and I who play the market were discussing investment firms when the conversation slid into a debate. Someone insisted that Wachovia Securities has a better research team than Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, Lehman, etc. and that AG Edwards/Wachovia Securities caters to the more affluent (on the same level as Merrill).
Does anyone on this board know about this topic and if so, which of these firms are ranked as #1 in research. Have been invested in the market and have managed my own investments but would like to possibly invest at a firm where an FA is more savvy to the stock market without my having to do research everyday.
