We have been living in N.C. for 11 years and can't seem to find new yorkers any where or puertoricans restaurants.

NY'ers are everywhere in Charlotte...have you not noticed all the NY Yankees hats and bumper stickers and NY Style Pizza joints? As far as Puerto Ricans there are only a few.

New Yorker here. Everyone I've met has been from New York, Upstate or the vicinity. I don't know where you're located, but I'm on the Southeast side and so are many ex-Ny'ers.

Hey I am Puerto Rican not from NY though. I am original from the island and have lived here for a little over a year now. My next door neighbor is also PR'can from NY and have a co-w'er from PR too. We sure are everywhere!

I have not seen any rests. in the area... are you craving some Arroz con Pollo ??

We moved to NC from NY. Why is that of any importance? Anyway, my former boss and his wife are both PR (they live in Matthews, if that helps any).

Not that it's really important, it's just that out here in Gastonia there isn't alot of diversity if you know what I mean. I guess I'm just curious about the areas in Charlotte that are receptive to difference. I work in Charlotte, and I love to go out there. Yes, Karen, I'm really craving some arroz con pollo and my husband misses the pasteles!

Hola!! I'm also from NYC! I'm not Puerto Rican, but i sure miss being around them, and all the many Spanish restaurants in NY. I'm from Bklyn, NY. I truly miss Puerto Ricans! I'm use to culture and diversity and Charlotte lacks both! My boyfriend and I (both from NY) were just talking about how you don't see many PR people. It's mostly Mexican, Honduras, etc... Anyhoo, welcome to NC! We live in South Charlotte! My grandmother lives in Gastonia and I know there is little to no culture there! If you can, Charlotte would be a better flavor for you!

So if there are no Puerto Ricans in an area you thinkg that there is no culture or diversity??? If you are Puerto Rican and you are living amongst people who are anything BUT Puerto Rican, guess what?? It is VERY diverse. I would bet you live near Irish, Italian, Polish, German, and African-American. Am I correct?
