A school counselor is on the teacher salary schedule.

It should be around $32,000 in Union County, but you would need to check with local districts for exact amounts.

It will also depend on how many years of service they accept. Were the years full years? Were they non internship hours? There are many variables.

What level are you looking for?

http://www.ncpublicschools.org/docs/...8schedules.pdf

check that for salary info. most districts offer a small supplement as well. if your grad program was 60 credit you will fall under "advanced masters" on the pay scale.

i'm just finishing up my MA in school counseling at UNCC and from what i understand, i wouldn't sayschool counselors are "in demand", but i can say that the job market here is WAAAAAAAAAAY better than in NY (for school counselors) which is one of the main reasons i relocated. your degree should be reciprical, you may have to take the PRAXIS. good luck
