Demere (Charlotte, Weddington, Wesley Chapel: for sale, chapel, house)

I will be moving to Charlotte with my husband and have been looking at a neighborhood in Wesley Chapel called Demere. It seems like a great neighborhood. We were really impressed with it and were wondering if anyone has heard anything about it?

We have lived in Demere since Aug. 07 and have been very happy so far! Neighbors are nice with lots of kids of all ages. It is a young, family-friendly neighborhood with some empty-nesters. All around a nice mix of people from all over the country. Lennar built us a quality home for a good price. They were very flexible will we were trying to sell our home in NY. Lived here since Nov 2006 and I love it! Unfortunately I had to put my house up for sale recently due to divorce.

I wish I could stay but I can't afford the bills on this house .

The neighbors here are so nice. I lived in a larger subdivision in Florida, about 600 homes and the people were not as friendly or as helpful as the people here.

There is a Pool and a walking trail.

There are lots of children here and the schools are excellent.

There is a new elementary school that just opened last year and that is Newtown elementary. The middle school is Weddington middle and the High school is Weddington high.

Hi! The schools for one more yesr are the Weddington schools and then they will switch over to the new Cutherbersom schools. Demere is a nice neighborhood, but it is definately a littel louder than most . Read the threads below that will help you. On the other hand look at the resales you may be able to get a deal.

I don't know what you mean by "louder than most". We do have community get togethers. We have a 4th of July party, an Easter egg hunt and BBQ's for the all the residents.

We also have a bunco game the last Wednesday of every month for the ladies in the neighborhood.

If that is what you mean by "loud" than it's not a bad thing.

If you like an active community than this is the place for you.

I actually just went to that neighborhood approx. 2 weeks ago and am working with the sales person. I am so excited and are moving from out of town as well. Sounds like all the residents have a great time together and being from out of town I won't know anyone so the warmth I got from this website and from the sales agent I am strongly considering. I also know they are winding down which will be good in regards to resale! All the other neighborhoods I've looked at the builder will be there for at least 3 more years. I don't particularly like to live around home const. if I don't have too.

I am a retired cop from the Albany NY area and have been trying to talk my wife into moving to Charlotte area for the past 2 years. I think I am getting to her and the Demere subdivision seems like a perfect fit. We have 3 children ages 6, 8 and 10. She is currently a Parole Officer with NYS and I teach golf and work part-time for a security firm. Any of the ritered guys down there know of any jobs available for either of us. I think if I can show her there is plenty of employment opportunities it would be an easier sell. Thanks for any help.
