The Elem And Middle School In Huntersville For The Vermillion And Skybrook North Communities Are Terrible. Compared To Other Huntersville Schools They Have The Lowest Testing Performances. I Also Noticed Many Students In These Particular Schools Are In Need Of Lunch Assistance. Are These The Schools That I Read About In The "observer"- Low Income Schools That Are In Need Academically? Don't Understand The Pricey Home Prices For These Communities And The Really Low Test Performance. Are These Low Income Schools? If Not Where In Huntersville Are The Low Income /poverty Schools?

Also, Is It Me Or Are The Home Prices In The Communities Mentioned Above High For The Area Or Normal?

Thanks To All The Members And Your Always Honest And Direct Replies.

Vermillion and Skybrook are nice. The schools I believe are Blythe (Elementary) Alexander (Middle) and North (High School) Blythe is actually a decent school. I live right near Vermillion and Skybrook and my son will be going to Blythe next year. We have many school teachers in my neighborhood and they all talk highly of Blythe.

Alexander is a decent school. Could be better but as more middle schools open up there is not so much busing in the kids from further out which should help.

North is the better high school in the area and is not a bad school. Other than overcrowding it is ok. Class of '94

With anything your going to have your bad apples.

Its hard to describe. You get neighborhoods from the mid $200's to $700's is not that weird anymore

Skybrook North is in Cabarrus County...not Mecklenburg. Skybrook has some parts in Cabarrus and some in Mecklenburg.

Most of the kids in need of Lunch Assistance are bussed and sent up from North Charlotte...most of them do not live in Huntersville (if any). Those schools are not just for Huntersville residents. That is why the schools are called Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

Look at test scores compared to other Hunterville schools. Also look at the % of parental support for the school.

Move to west of I-77 Like Macauley, Birkdale area. Torrence Creek is a great school!
