Is Weiland building a new section of Brookhaven on the other side of Antioch Church Road across from the main entrance?

Also, are there any new shopping centers being built near there? Are there any existing shopping centers nearby?

Yes, Brookhaven is building about 40 homes on the other side of Antioch Church. These are their "Habersham" homes, but with full brick and 3 car garages. Some are close to some high tension wires, however. They also have lots on the other side of Brookhaven which are really nice - trees, cul de sacs. These are on the Chestnut St. side of the S/D. There will be a new shopping center going in at the end of Antioch Church Rd at Weddington Rd. Not sure what will be in there. Brookhaven is about 5 minutes to the Promenade on Providence, 10 miuntes to the Fountains, 10-15 minutes to Blakeney and Ballantyne, 10 minutes to the Arboretum, 10 minutes to downtown Matthews, 20 minutes to South Park. What type of shopping centers are you referring to? Do you mean specialty shops or things like groceries? There is a Harris Teeter and Super BiLo under 5 minutes away, and Lowe's foods is about 5 minutes away at the Promenade. Brookhaven is in a great spot in terms of being close to shopping.

Thanks for the info.

I was aware of the shopping centers you mentioned but wasn't sure if there was anything closer. I had heard about a new one but wasn't sure if it was under construction yet or just planned. That must be the one you're referring to. Is it u/c?

Also, do you know about how many lots are still available on the original side of the development?

Construction on the new shopping center should be started this summer. I'm not exactly sure, but I think there are around 10 lots left on the original side of the s/d. Have you been into the sales center there? They could tell you. Ask for Mitch - he is the greatest!
