I have lived in quite a few big cities. In order of most recent first,
1 baltimore
2 washington, dc
3 philadelphia
4 NYC
5 Toronto (love it)
6 Pittsburgh
7 Los Angeles
8 London
9 South Bend, Ind (LOL I threw that one in there, not exactly a cosmopolitan one!)

I have been in CLT since Nov 07 and I can honestly say that this is the BEST place I have ever lived (well, US CITY that is, Toronto is fantastic too) Great people, great weather, good roads, lots of activities, handy location to mountains and sea, fun restaurants, great markets..all in all,Charlotte area is a fine place to live.

So you almost been in CLT a year and love it ....that's great! What did you love so much about Toronto and what made it so great? (Culture, weather, shopping??) It appears your job offers a lot of flexibility too so you are able to experience other cities so that must be nice.

Hmm, some of them haven;t been big cities but here is my list

Charlotte
Orlando
Satellite Beach
Back to Miami/Miami Beach
Chicago
Miami

Out of all the cities recently, I love Charlotte so far. But my favorite of my whole life would be my childhood Miami, nothing remotely like it is today.

Yeah, some of mine havent been big cities, either, but here is my list:

Richmond VA
Norfolk VA
Tampa FL
Marshall TX
New Bern NC

I know that isnt an earth shattering list, but I have to say that I have been in Charlotte for about 3 months, and so far, so good. I really loved Tampa (Richmond was cool, too), and right now, Charlotte is right up there Tampa!

My 2 cents:

1.)Utica, NY
2.)Oneonta, NY
3.) Central Islip, NY
4.) Colorado Springs, CO
5.) San Antonio, TX
6.) Mecklenburg County, VA

While my favorite is Colorado Springs, it's only because of the sheer beauty of the state. Charlotte is an awesome city, and I wish I had found it 10 years sooner!!

Most Recent first:
Miami, FL
Kansas City, MO
Orlando, FL

I have only been here for a little while and have enjoyed it enough to purchase a home. We like the landscape and the seasons, which the other places I have lived had little to none.

St Croix, US Virgin Islands (only until I was 1 year old)
Miami
Marathon, Fla Keys
Weston (Ft Lauderdale)
Charlotte- by far my favorite, not even close

I have been to Toronto many times and loved it! It is my favorite big city, edging out Rome by a hair.

My grandfather had a home in St. Thomas. I spent months there too. I loved it! St. Croix is the "french" side right?

I think you are referring to St Maarten, which is half Dutch and half French. St Croix is one of the US Virgin Islands, along with St Thomas, etc.
My Dad was an electrician in the 50's and hooked up the electrical wiring for the island. My Mom went into labor while eating a Chinese food dinner in Puerto Rico, so they had to catch a quick flight back to St Croix to have me. Chinese food is still my favorite meal...
