I was looking at taking an amtrak from raleigh to charlotte and was wondering where the amtrak station is. Is it within walking distance of the bobcats arena? When the season gets going again i'd like to take a train and see a game.

It a long walk but I would not do it for two reason
security
and it is a long walk.

Either take the bus number 11 N. Tryon bus
or catch a cab the fare will be minimal from the station to uptown it probably less than five miles.

By the year 2030 it will be moved close to Gateway Village

I would take a cab...and be careful at the Amtrak Station at all hours of the day...not in the best neighborhood.

I went by the Amtrak station once... to check it out. With a friend of mine. We're both big guys and it was a nice calm afternoon and it still made us really nervous.

That place is in a sketchy sketchy area. I wouldn't do any walking anywhere from there. Man... to arrive at 230am... I don't even know. Have a ride pull up to the front door and don't leave the building until its there?

I don't know anything about them, but maybe.. depending on the direction you're coming from and where you're going once you get off, it would be a better idea to get off in Gastonia or Kannapolis? I'm sure someone else knows more..

On a side note, this whole post bums me out. Yet another facet of Charlotte mass transportation that is sorely lacking and could really do a lot of good for the community if improved.

If you order a cab from the station, it's really no big deal. I would have no problem taking the bus across the street in the daytime, but not at 2:30 AM!

Why post twice? There will be taxis there to meet arriving passengers. Get one, or have Uber there waiting for you.
