This is great information. Does anyone know if the catholic schools offer a discount for catholic school teachers who have their kids go to the school they teach at?

Teachers are eligible for a flat amount per child off their tuition. The amount varies year to year, but has been in the $750. range the last two years. Just in the last two years there is a multiple child discount for families with more than one child in the system. By the 5th kid I think they would go for free. What grade level do you teach?

Default catholic teachers

My wife teaches fourth grade at a school called st bonaventure in Weston Florida. We get a 50% discount for our two kids. Are the schools tough to get into for relocators. Since my wife is currently a catholic school teacher does that give us a leg up on getting our kids in (fifth and 3rd0?)? What si the best way to get a child in? Thanks for the great info.

I'm a few years removed from the elementary level so I'm not sure what the current status is on which schools have openings and which have waiting lists, sorry. But you could find that out very easily by calling the MACS office (Mecklenburg Area County Schools). Usually it is first come, first served and possibly being willing to move your child mid year (most parents want to get in for the upcoming year and aren't willing to change mid year so your odds can be better). Being a new teacher in the system didn't used to gaurentee you a spot for your kids, but that may have changed. Call the schools office when you get a chance
