My flag is up. I am proud to be an American, a citizen of the greatest country on Earth. One that allows me the freedom to vehemently disagree w/ it's government when warranted. It's great to be an American.
Happy Independence Day everyone (I hate calling it the 4th of July, it is Independence Day)

I fly an American Flag all year. Took mine down yesterday and am flying the POW/MIA flag for the holiday. I usually fly this flag for the Memorial Day and the 4th.

Yes . . . it lifts my heart to see flags on display . . . I have mine out . . . and I bought some small ones last year on sale after July 4th . . . can't find them! I am going to look again this afternoon . . . was gonna put several lining the sidewalk. I like to be patriotic. I thank God I was born here. Yes, we have our challenges, but I am proud to be an American.

Thank you for remembering our POWs and those who are MIA, as well.

AMEN! We fly our 3x5 flag outside our home 365 days a year. It's the least we can do to show our support for our great, native country!

On the other hand I find it so odd that one would find this a "'little odd'. For example: You go to a baseball, football game and root for your team. You wear a tee shirt, a hat, wave a silly little flag-but you're proud of your team. You're rooting for your team.
You work for a political party. You hang banners. Wave flags. You're proud of your candidate.
I think part of the celebration of being proud, being part of,being happy you are on this team is the reason (in part) people want to buy and display a flag.
And Happy Fourth of July!

I don't have a flag so in honor of 4th of July, I am taking the quilt that I made for my son to our weekend jaunt in the mountains. He has always loved this quilt, and so have I! Here's a close up of the center panel. Happy 4th y'all!
