Default House On Top Of House

I am selling my house that has an acre of land, trees and quiet. I am buying into a huntersville community where the houses are 10 feet apart, with almost no back yard. Is there anyone who has made this transition? Will i regret no privacy? Anyone who has been through this, i would love to hear your expierence. Thank you in advance

If you truly enjoy your privacy you might want to rethink your move. I live in a similiar new community, with no trees to speak of and it can be a bit much at times being able to see into others homes and yards and they being able to see into yours.

That's why privacy fences are so popular

We moved from an acre lot in MA to Huntersville and for the most part it hasn't made much of a difference in privacy. Our houses are approximately 15 feet apart but we rarely hear anything from any of the houses around us. Occasionally we'll see our neighbors outside.

Small yard has advantages and disadvantages in my opinion.

Advantages: Not a slave to the yard anymore. Weedwhacking, mowing, raking, etc takes about an hour. Leaves lots of time for planting new stuff.

Disadvantages: Limited area to plant new stuff. Fencing is a must but lots of HOA's don't allow total privacy fencing, needs to have spaces between each picket.

There's a lot more to consider but so far we like it.

I don't mind the small lot (.08) we are on now in Huntersville. The smaller lot makes lawncare easier, especially since it can be a struggle to keep grass alive down here in the summer without an irrigation system. Even as small as our lot is, there's still enough space to do some small landscape projects / plantings.

We did choose a corner lot so we would only have one neighbor and privacy hasn't been an issue. Our neighbor is a nice family, but I could see it being a problem if they were loud or obnoxious.

If you're still thinking of Monteith Park, the large amount of greenspace in the neighborhood is a nice offset to the small lots.

Markh you are in villages at rosedale right?- i was just on line viewing the properties for sale there, there at least seems to be some yard with your neighborhood.I have also spoken with someone else on here - she loves rosedale. thank you for your input
Question-when we were down last week-we looked in huntersville, maybe an original area, with some old buldings, we were not succesful, do they exist?

Did you go buy the Town Hall etc or did you just stay over by the Hospital Rosedale area?

I am not sure what you are asking here.

Ok if you pulled out of the Hosiptal and take a right to go to the interstate (Gilead Road) cross over the interste and go about 1.5 miles that will be downtown Huntersville.

They are about to start building a Discovery place for Kidz etc. It is about ot have a complete overhaul from the sounds of it.
