Big City Diner
Anyone else notice the sign on the corner of Johnston and Ardrey Kell? Looks like a big, NY/NJ style diner is going up. Does anyone have any details about it?

Funny, I just noticed this myself on my weekly trip to the Foxhole. I think this was the subject of another post a while back. On the sign it also says "Sports lounge" so I'm not sure what it will be.
I seem to remember something about a current restaurant owner being involved like Noble's or something but can't remember.
If it's like the Diners that I grew up with on Long Island it will be a welcome addition.

Yea Baby!
The small print on the sign says "StratosGroupRestaurants.com", or something like that! Sounds Greek, and that is a good thing!

Stratos R.G. also own Ilios Noche and Nolen Kitchen. Yes, they are Greek. I'm hoping that even though it's a "diner" it will still have the quality and creativity of their other two restaurants, which are very good.

I'm just going to be happy to see if this will be a "Real Diner" and not some extension of a fancy restaurant with less expensive food. A diner like I grew up with on LI. One that you can go in and eat breakfast at any hour, or a hot open faced turkey sandwich, french toast with Challah bread and a rotating case with the most beautiful cakes riding around and around. Home Fries would eb nice, not that stringy stuff they serve at the Awful Waffle. And the ultimate would be the jukeboxes at the table
I'm going to sound like a pessimist, but people try and replicate stuff that do well up north since there's so many northerners down here (Reference Delancy Street) and they just aren't the same so they fail and go out of business.
I'm keeping my finger crossed on this one since I live so close....

Yea, I agree. I have everything crossed. If it is I will meet you for a late night breakfast binge!!! If only a club was open that late too. (of course, I am too old for that sort of thing, now-a-days)
