My wife and I finally moved to Charlotte. We're renting for a year and figuring out where we want to live, though it likely will be in Union Cty. We're focusing on homes built by Orleans (e.g., Bridle Path, Providence Forest and Lake Forest Preserve) or by John Weiland (e.g., Weddington Chase).
We're looking to spend between $650,000 and $725,000.
That sum will buy a very nice house in PF or LFP. Is Bridle Path more expensive than these other, nearby Orleans communities?
By the way, how many houses will be in BP, and how many lots are still available?
the people we bought our house from bought in bridle path, and they said Orleans didnt give very much, but it is a nice house big however you arent getting in there with upgrades within in that price. unless you buy a home that fell thru and has it all..Not alot of homes will be built, no ammentities like the other communities your looking in...Weddington Chase is resale as u know as they are done with that development...
Thanks for the info. In light of what you're saying, I assume that Bridle Path is considerably more expensive than Lake Forest Preserve and Providence Forest. Is that correct?
Yes that is correct, and with LFP you have ammentities and Weddington Chase you have ammentities..Im not famiar however with Providence Forest except I do know 1 couple that lives there...
Not sure maybe the land was more since it sits within Wyndam Hall...my hubby and I really werent overly impressed for the money with Bridle Path..just our opinion..

I agree. In LFP and PF, one can purchase a top-of-the line, extraordinary house for $650,000 to $750,000 (obviously, one can spend more there too). If the same house, costs $200k more in BP, it's absurd that anyone would buy there (particularly since LFP and PF) seem somewhat closer to Uptown.
London, for what it's worth, we are moving from a Wieland Home (BridgeMill) to an Orleans Home (Lake Forest Preserve).
I also agree completely regarding Bridle Path. Literally the same floorplans as LFP, same amount of land, schools are very similar but BP lacks amenities so I can't imagine paying 200K or so more for my house.
Obviously everyone has his/her own opinion, but I was surprised to see the comment that PF is more beautiful than LFP. We looked at both and chose to build in LFP because of both the amenities and that we felt that PF felt a little thrown together with nowhere near the natural beauty of LFP. Just an opinion, no offense intended.
The foundation is just being put in now, house should be ready in December. We're excited...

I prefer PF bec. it's more wooded than the sections of LFP where most homes have been built thus far. Anyway, my wife prefers LFP bec. it has a pool, etc.
