3x a Charm?
We've lost power twice in this current storm. I wonder how many hours it'll go out for the next time?

I didn't read this thread earlier! So . . . I was not the only one. We lost ours and then it came on for less than five minutes and went back off again. Have no clue what that was all about. Ours went off about 5:45. Our house alarm, for some reason, also went off and we could not get it to stop!!! So I took my cell phone out into the garage. I was getting frantic to get some help as poor Scarlett was beside herself - and DH was yelling that the alarm was hurting his ears . . . Finally got it re-set.
Heavens. Glad your power is back on, Barking!

All we're getting here in beautiful downtown Mebane, is rain. My garden is enjoying this thoroughly, my first tomatos were eaten today, been getting squash, cukes, okra, first planting of corn is tasseled out, lots of peppers, 4 types, well......so much for the continuing drought theory, Falls lake is above normal, so is the creek behind my house. Don't need hip-waders to make it to the mailbox yet, no backstroke up the driveway either, but still a good bit of water, a whole lot better than the alternative. OK, OK, maybe I'm not exactly in greater urban Mebane, yeah, I am actually in rural Mebane, and to think, some folks don't believe Mebane has a rural aspect!

I seem to miss it all! We decided to take a drive to Salisbury yesterday and go to Outback for dinner....as we were driving we hit a bit of rain but nothing to write home about. Behind us the clouds were black and looked pretty bad. We ate and came home and it looked like a war zone in Richfield area. Trees were down everywhere, fire trucks were everywhere and no electricity. When we got home finally, in Albemarle area, the electricity had been out but was already restored and it had stopped raining. It looked like we'd had quite a bit of rain and some winds but nothing like neighboring towns. I still have no idea how bad it was here---need to talk to the neighbors today!! I know my dogs and cats were pretty jumpy when we got home!

I know it's a bad storm when my dog absolutely REFUSES to go outside... even after being inside alone all day while I was at work.

I was driving home on carmel waiting to turn on Hwy 51 when a transformer blew out behind us. Scary and loud.
All the traffic lights had gone out from carmel to rea rd on Hwy 51.
That was around 5:35 - 5:45ish.
Maybe that was it?
