Looking for more rain over night if it doesn't break up over the mountains. Might get a 3am shower!

The storms last evening were much worse here in Rock Hill than the ones that hit this evening. But, once again, it was nice to get more rain. I think we've moved down from Exceptional Drought to Extreme Drought now. We only have to make up last year's 15" deficit plus this year's 5" or so deficit. C'mon rain, get here tonight.
Yesterday's lightening show was the most I've seen in quite awhile. I work at home, and was standing at my sliding door looking out, when a bolt hit into the woods across the street. The thunder was so loud, it actually knocked me down into my chair which I had stood up from. Of course, my Golden Retriever was completely freaked out, as she is very scared of any loud noise. Not as much lightening tonight, mostly cloud to cloud, and not very much of it.

Sadly, last nights storm didn't drop much rain. A few drops here in the albemarle area. Quite a bit of lightening and thunder but little rain. Keeping fingers crossed that the rest of this month will prove to be a wet month. Everything looks so nice and starting to green up again. The air smells lovely....our lakes may even start filling up a bit. Badin Lake is so low right now--guess they let a lot of water out a few weeks ago. Sure would enjoy seeing the creeks running nicely too!

Ah, the sounds of buckets of rain dropping outside my window. No wind either, it's coming straight down! Time is 3:55pm. I'm gonna have a backyard oasis before long...this is great!

Oooh I hope it comes down to us in Ballantyne carolina_guy. Looks like the skies are getting prepped for round 3. I'm actually really enjoying the ongoing afternoon thunder showers.
