I want to have a boat dock built for my lake Norman lot. It has been approved by Duke power. I have no idea how to go about finding a good company to build it at a good price.I do not live in the area yet, and would like to know approximately how much a nice basic floating dock is? I realize there are various materials that can be used, but any information is appreciated. Thanks

I had a pier and dock put in on Lake Wylie last year. Not counting permits (which can run quite a bit of change) it ran a little over 20K. It was a 8X22' pier, 4X24' floating dock, and a 6K lb boat lift on 4 pilings.

Thanks , I also saw some sites on the internet where you can order do it yourself kits for floating docks. They dont mention the price, but I wonder if these are authorized on Norman?
